I personally wouldn't touch it as I have never heard of this company, even though they claim to be world leaders  bit of a bogus claim perhaps???  though that said they could be very popular in estonia or mongolia for all I know

If you want cheap but reliable go with the aqua one filters mate

I see the London Aquatic Company have renamed their filters!

I have a Jebo 825 external. It works but it rattles like a mad thing now and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone!

You pay for what you get and it's cheap rubbish. Reasonable in price, but since I mentioned them a week or so ago, mine has been so noisy I'm going nuts.  It's downstairs and I can hear it upstairs!

I recommend the Eheim Ecco Pro filters.  Reasonable in price and exceptional in performance Big smile

Well the good news is i have the same make running on my 566l tank. In fact i have 3 of these filters and i can say i have had no problems with them.

The one i have is the 5 basket 829 and its great.I would recommend it. But thats just MO.

They are so easy to prime, they runn quietly and are good at the filtering.
I can't say that i have encountered any problems at all with mine.

I'm glad you have success with yours SF!  Mine was perfect for the first 12 months of use in as much as it did what it said on the box, but the occasional rattling it used to go through is more or less permanent now Confused

Mine's the 3 basket version but I have to admit I wouldn't buy another as I have found much better performance from other makes.

Being a marine man scooby, I don't usually have much to donate about freshwater filters. However, I have been the proud owner of a Fluval FX5 for some time. Originally, I used it for the sole purpose of phosphate removal, so I didn't realy use it to its full capacity. Recently, I undertook a huge project on my marine system, which entailed moving the fish into a temporary home. Instead of going through the lengthy period of maturing a new sump, I used the FX5, with its seeded sponges for filtration. May I suggest you look into purchasing one? If they can labour under the weight of marine predator waste (albeit short term) then the filter should meet your needs.

That's excellent advice Mr S. The FX5 is a superb filter but I feel as Mr Scoobydoobydoo is looking at paying around £37 for a filter...I doubt he will stretch to a FX5 Shocked ... LOL

Now....where's that link to those cheap Halide bulbs? LOL
